MIND AND ITS OWN BUSINESS
ACHIEVING HIGHER GOALS
According to WHO, mental health is as important as our physical health. The NHS, our national pride and treasure, spends billions of pounds on mental health. Chalo London salutes the NHS warriors and brings awareness about Mental health in this article.
Purpose
What do you think is the most important organ of our body? The clue to the answer is in the question itself.
You are also right if you said heart, eyes, tummy, etc.
If you reread the question, the ‘think’ is the clue here. To answer the question, your mind processed hundreds and thousands of information bits in a fraction of a second.
Each and every important element of our body has a boss, or the one who controls everything else.
Yes, it is our mind (or to be specific, it’s our brain where the thinking happens).
What does the title ‘purpose’ have to do with the brain?
We do things for a specific purpose, for example, joining the Yoga session could be for health, happiness and peace in our lives.
We are all driven by a cause or purpose. To achieve greater things in life we definitely need good health, an energetic body and a happy mind.
To attain our gorgeous goals FASTER, we need to understand our mind.

If you dissect and study deep into the human brain, you will be astonished to know how complex and miraculous it is.
But, we are not here to study the brain scan, it is enough to know the following three aspects of the human brain.
Prefrontal cortex (PFC)
Amygdala
Subconscious mind
As we can experience that, all the success, achievements and status in the society are the results of power of mind. We all have an equal amount of time per day, nearly all of us possess similar amounts of limbs (or organs) but still some exceed the others.
The study found that those who mastered the pathways between amygdala and PFC became successful in life.
The research proved that regular ‘dhyana’ widens the pathways and results in a greater empowerment of the human brain. And results in a better mental health in us.

Do you know who is the happiest man on the planet earth?
Officially it is ‘Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche’
At very young age, this marvellous man learnt dhyana from his father (a Nepali dhyana teacher)
The western scientist now confirmed that mindfulness practice empowers the PFC and makes us achieve greater things in life in the long term, but immediately an immense happiness.
Dhyana (or meditation) is easy to learn and above all, it’s FREE!
The results of dhyana are long term and you should practice daily for 15 to 20 min.
There is a saying that urges us like this:
‘You must do meditation daily for 20 minutes, unless you are too busy…
...If you are too busy, you must do it for 30 minutes on that day!’
When you reach a mid-range practitioner, you will experience wonders in life.

To achieve greater heights in Mental Health.
According to Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche, the goal of meditation is ‘awareness’. He beautifully explains this by comparing our consciousness with the sky. Our thoughts and feelings are like changing weather and seasons.
They come and go.
What is eternal is our awareness. If you become a pro in dhyana practice, you will experience a vivid awareness (like clouds and clutter free blue skies).
This clarity provides a better vision for life. You will come closer and closer to your intended purpose or objective of your life.
When you get an idea of what you want to be, then the magic of manifestation happens.
I personally experienced this wonder. Things started to unfold for me. In the past, I spent years and years cracking some of the complicated questions and tasks. After I practise meditations, paths become clear and some issues are resolved with the least efforts.
The 15 minutes of meditation practice, I experienced, saved hours and hours on that day and in the long run a few months!
This whole write up may not be pleasing to you at this moment of time. It’s absolutely normal, as they say, the time has to be ‘right and ripe’. The principle of meditation is based on ‘leverage’, achieving larger things with a minimum of effort and ease.
Sharing what I know is my initiative, what you do next is all up to you!
Happy Mental Health journey!
Good luck...
